JOSEPH HENRY (JOE) JAWORSKI At the handsome age of 94 years, Joe passed away peacefully in the early hours of Sunday, December 13, 2015 at the Victoria General Hospital, Winnipeg. Joe was brought into the world on March 19, 1921 by a midwife on the family farm in Tyndall, Manitoba, run by his parents, Frances and Michael Jaworski. Joe grew up on the farm and would often regale anyone who would listen with stories about "carrying trees on his shoulder" or "walking 20 miles in a blizzard." Joe was very musical and took up guitar and fiddle at a young age. He became an accomplished guitarist and was a master of the old-fashioned "chopper" rhythm guitar style of playing. He was a meticulous master carpenter and cabinet maker, crafting beautiful work well into his 70's. He was also a proud Canadian Armed Forces Second World War Veteran. Joe was a very social person and loved to share a beer and a story with his musical buddies and Legion friends. He had a great sense of humour and his oft-repeated jests eventually became known as "Granddad jokes." Joe's love of music led him to teach music at the Jack Riddell Guitar Studio where he met Yvonne Brown, who became his wife of nearly 59 years. Joe is survived by his sister, Pearl Wright, of Toronto, ON, his sister-in-law, Monica Jaworski, of Oakville, ON, his children Betty Van Walleghem (Bob) of Winnipeg, Lyall Jaworski (Marsha Simak) of Calgary AB, Angie Dunn (Terry) of Waterloo, ON, James (Jim) Jaworski (Brandi Field) of Winnipeg, John Jaworski of Vancouver BC, Teresa Clefstad (Oren) of Winnipeg, 14 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Joe was predeceased by his wife, Yvonne, in July, 2007. His sisters Eleanor, Mary, Jan and Terry and his only brother, Ted, also predeceased him. In keeping with Joe's wishes, a funeral mass will be held at Holy Cross Parish, 252 Dubuc Street, on Monday, December 21, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. with Father Peter Krasuski presiding. Pallbearers will be Joe's grandsons: Scott Jaworski, Chris Jaworski (honourary), Steve Van Walleghem, Danny Van Walleghem, Joey Clefstad, Eric Clefstad and Ray Jaworski. Lunch will be served immediately following the mass and private interment will take place thereafter. The family offers special thanks to the kind and caring staff at Vista Park Lodge and to the amazing medical team at Victoria General Hospital. In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully requests that a donation be made in memory of Joe, to a charity of one's choice. The Coutu Family in care of arrangements: E.J.
