  • I am deeply saddened to hear that Wayne passed some time ago. Wayne was a great, fun guy that always made you feel welcome around him. I remember Wayne and Wendy at many Wps social functions. I’m very sorry Wendy. Rest easy Wayne! You will be missed! Hugs and prayers! - Posted by: Dan Banks (Friend) on: Jul 26, 2018

  • Wayne and I were great friends. Went to school together and maintained a relationship for many years. So sorry for your loss. Wayne will always remain in my heart. - Posted by: Linda (Doherty) Allison (Great Friend) on: Mar 27, 2016

  • Wayne was a good friend, he was always in a good mood willing to goof around. When times became more serious he handled situations well. He could always look at things in a humorous way. I'm so sorry to hear of his passing. Damn cancer takes too many too young. J. Cook, friend and fellow worker - Posted by: Jim Cook (friend and co-worker) on: Dec 28, 2015

  • Wayne and his older sister Wendy were next door neighbours of mine when we were all children. Wayne and I were always together and knew each other right up until high school. His family and mine were all very good friends. I kept in touch with his parents long after I left Manitoba, as well as his older sister Wendy. It is my great sorrow to lose both of my childhood friends in such a short period of time. There are a million memories that I will treasure and keep in my heart for the remainder of my days. Rest well my redheaded friend, I will always think of you and our times together with great fondness as well as with the memory of innocence while being children together at a time when that was true. You will always be my first kiss, my first boyfriend. My deepest sympathy to Wayne's family and friends. - Posted by: Pamela Bennett-Hoch (Childhood friend) on: Dec 25, 2015

  • I knew Wayne personally a long long time ago when he met and married my older sister. I loved him as a brother-in-law and as a person. He was one of the funniest persons I have ever met in my law. I remember long ago when we were driving down Portage Avenue in our cars side by side, and at every stop light he would turn his cap at a different angle each time and make a face. I laughed so hard I won't say what almost happened. But I loved him then and have thought of him very often since. He is not a man who will ever be easily forgotten by friends and everyone who ever had the pleasure of having him in their life short-term or long-term. I will miss you my first brother-in-law, with love. - Posted by: Lyn Bonnett (ex sister-in-law and friend) on: Dec 24, 2015

  • I remember days in the parking lot behind the A with Al and Wayne pre-lubing before going into the bar. All the great times socializing and B.S. or at the lake. Sometimes our new years sleigh rides were so cold our booze would start to freeze. I was honoured to call Wayne my friend, and sorry we lost touch when I came back to Winnipeg. RIP buddy - Posted by: Don Martin (friend) on: Dec 23, 2015

  • I was new on the Job, he was friendly, supportive, helpful and Kind. Always smiling and happy, made sure I never concerned myself with the small stuff or the small people for the matter. Thanks for the "Back up" Wayne. It was a pleasure to know and work with you, see you again friend. RIP Esther. - Posted by: Esther Schmieder (Friend & Co-worker) on: Dec 22, 2015

  • I'm very sad to hear of Wayne's passing. Wayne & I were friends back in the 80's. In those days Wayne was an exceptionally good friend to me & I've thought of him many times since leaving Winnipeg & a smile always comes to me when I remember him calling me by my nickname, Farler. • As one of the "single' girls for many years, we would always have too run our dates past Wayne, where he would determine if they are worthy of us. Not many made the cut! I remember putting on lipstick in the bar, along with the other girls, and kissing Wayne's face. He would be covered with kisses from all of us and wore the marks with a smile. I have wonderful memories of this great man and friend. My sympathies to Wendy and family. Wayne will be greatly missed but his memories bring a warm smile to all who knew him. Rest in peace. - Posted by: Deb Callagan (Friend) on: Dec 21, 2015

  • Had the pleasure of knowing Mr Gumby for over 4 decades. He was my best man at my marriage to Teena. Spent uncountable cocktail, pool, great hilarious times together. You were taken too early and too fast my dear, dear friend. Who do I talk my problems out with now? Heaven is a better place with you in it. Rest in peace Mr Gumby - Posted by: Terry Gsrraway (My best friend) on: Dec 21, 2015
