Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryAILEEN MAE BURNS (nee WALKER) 1917 2015 It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Aileen on December 14, 2015 at the age of 98. She was predeceased by her husband John (1982); and is survived by daughters, Dianne Malinoski and Debbie Birch; grandchildren Kim (Manny), Paul, Dean; great-grandchildren, Maddy, Tyler and Miel Cordoviz. Aileen lived her life with grace and dignity. She had many, many friends. She was an avid crafts person, bowled weekly at Polo Park Lanes for some 50 years, walked every morning with Polo Park walkers, was an avid reader, and was interested in all events going on in the world. Her special pride and love were her great-grandchildren with whom she had a special bond. We think in awe of all the wonders you have experienced in your lifetime and what a caring and giving matriarch you have been. You have taught us so many things. As with Aileen's desires, there will be no funeral. Cremation has taken place. If friends so desire they can make a donation to a charity of their choice. Rest in Peace, Mom We love you. Aileen and Mom lived across Clifton Street from each other. They spent many an hour together, especially in the summertime, sitting outside in their lawn chairs. There was mutual respect for each other as they had a lot in common and valued the other's opinion. Aileen got Mom involved in card-making, something Mom quite enjoyed doing. Gifts were exchanged for celebrations and Mom treasured the Christmas cross-stitching ornaments. As Mom has now been gone for 7 years, our Christmas tree is even more special as we display Aileen's fine work. We always had a soft spot for Mom's special friend and neighbor Aileen. A very special Lady. - Posted by: Fred and Pamela Skyhar (neighbours) on: Jan 05, 2016

So sorry to hear of the passing of your Mom. My dad and yours were Army buddies and it was in the 60's that I first met them. Your mom was a lovely lady with great spirit. 98 years is a very good life. RIP Aileen. - Posted by: Mark Schiller () on: Dec 19, 2015
