Date of Passing: Dec 14, 2015
Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryWILLIAM BLYTH ARNOTT May 27, 1923 - December 14, 2015 "Living is easy, it's dying that's hard." After 88 years of "easy" and four years of "hard", we are sad to say goodbye to our Dad, Bill Arnott. Bill was born on Stradbrook Avenue in Winnipeg, the youngest of four children. While he was still a child, his family moved to Saskatoon, and it was there he enlisted in the army. He served overseas in England during the Second World War, where he met and married Daphne, his wife of over 69 years. After the war, Bill and Daphne settled in Vancouver, where Carolyn, Heather and Evelyn were born. Dad spent most of his working life with the Firestone Tire and Rubber Company and was transferred back to Winnipeg in 1962. He had a great sense of humour with a sweet smile and a twinkle in his eye. He was a kind and gentle man. Bill will be missed by his wife Daphne; daughters, Carolyn (Bernie) Cope, Heather (Lyle) Arnould and Evelyn (Martin) Nowoselski. Grandpa will also be missed by Steven (Maureen), Andrea (Jay) and Memory, as well as his five great-grandchildren and his Calgary nieces and nephews. At Bill's request, cremation has taken place and no formal service will be held. "May the sun shine warmly upon his face."
