Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryPETER STEPANIUK It is with great sadness that our family announces the passing of our dear husband, father, "Gido", brother, uncle and loved one, Peter Stepaniuk, on Sunday, December 20, 2015. He was residing at his home in Saskatoon at the time of his passing, following a long battle with cancer. Peter had a 36 year career with the Canadian National Railway spanning from Spy Hill, Lenny, Biggar and Saskatoon. Peter loved his family fiercely, was a tireless and "vocal" supporter of all family activities and was extremely committed to his church and community. Peter will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 48 years, Sophie Stepaniuk; his children Michael Stepaniuk, Andrew (Jennifer) Stepaniuk, and Eleanor (Brent) Grabowski; four grandchildren Bryn, Ethan, Nicholas and Adam; brothers Bill, John (Anne) and Michael (Margorie); brothers-in-law Louis Tataryn and Maurice (Lina) Melnyk, sister-in-law Rosie Hrabchuk, and numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents Stefan and Katherine Stepaniuk, sister Effie and brother Ronnie; daughter-in-law Bhupi, sister-in-law Elsie Stepaniuk, brother-in-law Peter Hrabchuk, niece Sharon and her husband Earl Firth. Vigil of Prayers will be held on Sunday, December 27, 2015 at 7:00 p.m. and Divine Liturgy will be celebrated on Monday, December 28, 2015 at 10:00 a.m., both from St. George's Ukrainian Catholic Cathedral, 210 Ave. M South, Saskatoon, Saskatchewan. Remembering the days Peter lived at our house when he went to school in Winnipeg, one of many nephews and nieces who shared Aunty Anne and Uncle Fred's home while they lived in the city.
