EVELYN MIRECKI (nee PICARD) December 16, 1932 - December 19, 2015 After a courageous battle with cancer, our mom and amma passed away on Saturday, December 19, 2015. Evelyn was predeceased by her husband Ben and leaves to mourn her daughters Melanie (Laurie) and Karen (Shayne), grandsons: Craig (Mandy), Dylan, Brandyn and Jesse (Jenn), and great-grandchildren: Aaron, Ella, Anna, Alex, Emily and Gavin. She also leaves her sisters Marie Edwards and Beatrice Player and sisters-in-law: Stella Dolski, Margaret Kowalczuk, Jean Lannigan and Emily Atamanchuk, as well as many nieces, nephews and good friends. We would like to thank the wonderful staff at both CancerCare, St. Boniface Hospital and Dr. Garcia and the Palliative team at Riverview Health Centre. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to CancerCare Manitoba Foundation or Riverview Health Centre Foundation - Palliative Care. At our mom's request, a regular church mass will be held today, Wednesday, December 23, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. in Christ the King Church, 847 St. Mary's Road. You were the best mom and amma ever! So sorry to read that Evelyn passed away. Evelyn would phone me and inquire what changes were made to her house and yard. She never complained about her cancer.
