September 27, 1934 - December 24, 2015 Peacefully, with his family by his side, on Thursday, December 24, 2015 at the Grace Hospital in Winnipeg, Sydney Smith Sr. passed away at the age of 81 years. Sydney is survived by his children, Barry, Debbie, Peggy (Larry), Donna (Melvin), Sydney (Emily) and John (Charlotte); his sisters, Lorraine, Hilda, Muriel and Effie; his sisters-in-law, Lillian Smith, Dora Carswell and Doreen Moar; as well as numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. We love you Dad, Poppa and Grandpa. Rest in peace. A wake service will be held on Tuesday, December 29, 2015 from 7:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. at Neil Bardal Funeral Centre, 3030 Notre Dame Avenue, Winnipeg, MB. Cremation will take place following the service and a Graveside service will be held on Wednesday, December 30, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. at Glen Eden Cemetery, 4477 Main Street, West St. Paul, MB. Rev. I am so sorry at the passing of your father and grandfather, and brother, and my Uncle Sydney. Such a sad time to lose a family member. My thoughts and sympathy are with all of you at this sad time. A lovely picture of Uncle Sydney as I remember him, even though I didn't see him often, I will remember his wit and sense of humour..
