JEAN LYDIA HOARD
Born: Jan 23, 1927
Date of Passing: Dec 19, 2015
Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryJEAN LYDIA HOARD (nee DAND) January 23, 1927 - December 19, 2015 We are saddened to announce the passing of our dearly beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great-grandmother, aunt, friend, mother-in-law and family matriarch. Jean is survived by her children Wayne (Suzanne), Bev (Rolly), Deb, Len (Alvina), Brenda (Ed), and Dolores, stepsons Bob and Fred, grandchildren Sean (Wendy), Kristen (Gary), Andrew, James, Rodd, Melanie, Jennifer, Ryan, Joel, James, Vanessa, Cole, Leah, Aaron, Jesse, Jordan, and Emily Jean, 33 great-grandchildren, three great-great-grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews, extended family, and dear friend Phyllis. She was predeceased by parents Mary Jane and James, brothers Bob, Bill, Les, Ernie, Bruce, and Roy, sisters Cora and Marrian, dear friend Stan, daughter Sheryl, and sons-in-law, Warren, Jim Purse and Jim Woodman. Nearly every single grandchild had the pleasure of being raised with her grandmotherly love at some point in their childhood and all maintained a very close connection to her right up until her final moments. Her great-grandchildren adored her too. Mom grew up on a farm in Coleville, Saskatchewan and learned many of her life's skills from her mother Mary Jane. She lived through the war years and the Depression. Times were hard back then. Mom's interests included gardening, baking and sewing. We always said that Mom had the "best buns in town". She made the best pies, cookies and special cakes for our birthdays, placing so much detail and love into each one. Mom instilled many values in us such as kindness, honesty and integrity. She loved us with all her heart and soul. Family was so important to Mom. We were her life, always putting us first, no matter what the circumstance. She was proud of each and every one of us, encouraging us to be the best that we could be. In Mom's words, "Love does not die, people do." Faith, Hope and Love, but the greatest of these is Love. Heaven has another angel. Till we meet again... In lieu of flower, donations can be made to the Salvation Army. We will be celebrating Mom's life with Vince Hoard's on Thursday, December 31 at 10:00 a.m. at Thomson "In the Park" Funeral Home, 1291 McGillivray Blvd.

Aunt Jean will truly be missed and never forgotten. I always enjoyed our talks on the phone and every year looked so forward to receiving her card at Christmas. I will always treasure them. I always told her she was my rock. She was truly a very strong and proud woman and I am so proud to of had her as my aunt. She will be always missed in my heart. I love you so much Aunt Jean!!! - Posted by: Lori Dand (neice) on: Jan 02, 2016
