Date of Passing: Dec 27, 2015
Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryJOHANNES (JOHN) TIGGELAAR On December 27, 2015, the Lord called home our son and husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. John was 72 years old. John was born on October 17, 1943 in Enschede, Holland. He was the first born son of Jan and Fijgje Tiggelaar. John immigrated to Canada with his parents and brothers in 1951 from Holland and arrived in Homewood, Manitoba where he eventually made his way to Winnipeg. He is preceded in death by his father and survived by his mother, his wife Patricia Wilson, his son Gerry (Debbie) Tiggelaar and his daughters, Frances (Kevin) Wray and Diane (William) DeWit, his son Kenneth (Heidi) Wilson and daughter Karin Stelte. He is also survived by seven grandsons, seven granddaughters, 12 great-grandchildren, as well as his five brothers and one sister. John worked for 27 years at Snowdons Furniture then became a bus driver for the City of Winnipeg Transit, a job he loved, until he retired. He will be greatly missed by his fellow drivers, his "coffee buddies", often spoken of in love and good times. Services will be held on Saturday, January 2, 2016 at 6:00 p.m. at Wheeler Funeral Home, 1800 Day St., Winnipeg, MB. A reception will be held after the service. In lieu of flowers, a donation may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Canada (www.heartandstroke.com).

A man you could sit with, talk with, and tell a story to. He had his sense of humour and it was appreciated. I'm very glad I got to know him, even for that little while. - Posted by: Del Menard (Co-worker, "coffee buddy") on: Dec 31, 2015
