HELEN DROHOMERESKI It is with deep sadness we announce the sudden passing of our mom and grandma, Helen Drohomereski at home on December 29, 2015. Left to mourn are her children, Desa (Perry), Leanne (Pete) and Kurt (Robin); grandchildren, Rhys, Alexa, Tyler, Allison, Hayley, Alivia and Ryatt. She was predeceased by her husband Ed in 2010, parents Jean and Roy Meloney and brother Donald. Mom was born in Neepawa in 1940 and grew up in the Gladstone area. In 1964 she married Ed Drohomereski and they eventually settled on the Drohomereski family farm in Teulon where mom spent the rest of her life. Mom was a hard worker, keeping us all fed, driving to various activities, helping with projects and homework, tending the garden, keeping the house organized and driving the combine every harvest. Once grandchildren arrived it was clear they stole her heart. Grandma's house was the place where there were always treats, neat things to look at and play with and often a new Rooster for her collection. Her door was always open. We will miss seeing her wave at the kitchen window as we leave. Funeral service will be held on Friday, January 8, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. at the Gunton Community Hall. If friends so desire memorial donations may be made to the Teulon Hunter Memorial Hospital Foundation. Wojcik's Funeral Chapel, 2157 Portage Avenue, Winnipeg, MB in care of arrangements 204.897.4665. We are very sorry to hear of Helen's sudden passing, and also sorry that we heard after the funeral took place on Friday, or we would have attended. Helen was a wonderful woman and when we moved to the Petersfield/Teulon area many years ago, she welcomed me into the 4H community. I taught sewing to her daughter, Leanne, and she taught my daughter, Ramona. Our friendship continued when our sons Kris and Kurt, played hockey together. Helen and Ed were wonderful people, and we are very sorry to hear of her passing. Our sincere condolences to Desa, Leanne, Kurtis, and their families. - Posted by: Margo and Bob Johnston (Friends and neighbours) on: Jan 09, 2016

We met Ed and Helen 20 years ago when getting permission to hunt their property. They were very friendly and treated us like family instead of strangers they had just met. We'd go to look for geese and Ed would say "we'll take my truck, my gas is cheaper". I'll always remember the first time I shook hands with Ed. I thought I had big hands, until I shook his hand, WOW. Then we met Kurt when Helen asked us to take him hunting with us. As always happens, that day was a bust, but we stayed friends since then. All I can say is that they were a great couple and you could feel the love for their family, their farm, their country, and most all, for each other. We will miss them greatly, but were blessed to be a part of their lives. Their friendship and great fellowship will be cherished forever. There won't be a time when lying in my blind, listening to the geese passing overhead, that I won't think of those two wonderful friends. - Posted by: Joe Today, Britt,MN (Friend, Waterfowl Hunter ) on: Jan 04, 2016

To all of Helen's family. We have been connected to the family for many years and considered both Helen and Ed as true friends. We shared many confidences over the years and were shocked and saddened to hear of Helen's passing. If there is anyway we can help at this sad time, do not hesitate to contact us. We love you.
