Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryBRONISLAW FEDOROWICZ 1933 - 2015 Our father, Bronislaw Fedorowicz, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, December 27, 2015. At the age of 82, he lived a long life, surviving war and uncertainty, but ultimately having a good life in Canada with family and friends. Bronislaw was born on April 20, 1933 in Toporow, Poland to Maria and Stefan Fedorowicz. He lived on a farm with his brothers until February, 1940. With the outbreak of the Second World War, he and his parents were deported to a work camp in Siberia. They had a hard life, but survived, until they were freed in 1941. Unable to return to Poland because of the war, they made a difficult journey through Russia, Uzbekistan, Iran and other countries until finally arriving in Africa, settling in Arusha, Tanzania. Our father had many adventures and fond memories of Africa - "my Africa" he called it. Bronislaw lived in Tanzania with our grandmother until he was a teenager, when they moved to England until 1952, when they immigrated to Canada. Upon coming to Winnipeg, like many immigrants, he worked in a factory. Eventually, he took courses in power engineering and worked at the University of Manitoba until his retirement in 1997. He married our mother, Mariola, in 1967. They had three children, Andrew, Anne and Richard. He was a wonderful husband and father, who always put his family first and ensured their well-being and success. He was a good man, with integrity, who instilled strong values and commitment in his children. He loved his son-in-law Frank and daughters-in-law Tina and Jenny. He was delighted to become a grandfather, adoring his grandchildren, Matthew, Amelia and Nicholas. He was protective of them, just like as a father, but they also brought out his soft side, with laughter and joy, the way children do. We love him truly. He was the best father and husband. We miss you, but know you have found peace with God.
