RONALD ALFRED VINNELL September 1964 - December 31, 2015 Formerly of Winnipeg, MB drifted peacefully away at home in Saanichton, BC at age 51. Ron's memories will be cherished by his partner Susan Fleet, daughter Aurora Harrold, mother Helen Vinnell, father Ronald D. Vinnell, sister Desiree Henderson and many family and friends. Ron cared deeply for his partner, his daughter and family. He was a deep thinker and had a unique, artistic talent working with driftwood, stones, cutlery and other media. He loved the outdoors and had many a favourite spot along the nearby shoreline and forest. He was such a frequent visitor to these areas that hummingbirds would perch on his hat and eagles would land by his feet to join him in his contemplations. He was a mountain biking enthusiast and took great joy in exploring local bike trails. He could often be found tinkering away on his bike switching out parts to create that sweet ride'. Ron could best be described as having no intention of journeying to the grave safely in a well-preserved and attractive form. But rather a skid in sideways, beer in one hand, smoke in the other, body thoroughly used up and worn out, yelling Oh yeah! What a ride!' He lived his life his way. Though he will be sadly missed by many family and friends, he will live on in their hearts. Cremation has taken place and there will be no formal service in keeping with Ron's wishes.
