JOHN KACHMAR February 25, 1936 - December 27, 2015 After a long battle with a number of different ailments, John passed away peacefully in his sleep. He was predeceased by his father and mother, Mike and Anne Kachmar, and his best friend and partner Denise Michiels. John is survived by his brother, Michael, his wife Maureen, and his nephews, Warren, Glenn, and Reid. John was born in Winnipeg, MB, and attended Daniel McIntyre School where he was an all-star basketball player. John also excelled at hockey and baseball. John's career took many diverse turns, but he worked the longest for the Labatt Brewing Company and the Alberta Wheat Pool. John's family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to Ken Sopko and Rajiv Luthra who became dear friends with John and took good care of him after Denise passed away. Rest in Peace, John. You lived an incredible and adventure-filled life, and brought warmth and laughter to your family and friends. A memorial service will be held at Vancouver Memorial Services and Crematorium (in Mountain View Cemetery), in Vancouver, BC.
