NORMAN KENNETH ANS
Date of Passing: Jan 05, 2016
Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryNORMAN KENNETH ANS It is with great sorrow we announce the passing of Norm, peacefully at home on Tuesday, January 5, 2016, at the age of 88 years. Remaining to forever cherish Norm's memory are his loving wife of 67 years, Shirley (nee Hedges); five children, Randy (Cyrena), Cheryl (Bob), Beverley (Nev), Brad (Sharon) and Grant (Colette); grandson, Jody (Danielle); three granddaughters, Kendra, Kailee and Delaney; sister Edna (the late Jim); brother Howard (Lorraine); sisters-in-law Carol (the late Robert), Sherry (late David), Shannon (late Brian), Lori (late Neville); brother-in-law Arnold; many nieces and nephews; as well as his fur babies, Sheba and Kit. He was predeceased by his parents, Robert D. Ans and Gertrude (nee Henderson); and brothers, Ted, David, Robert and Danny (Bernice). Norm was a humble and gentle man who spent most of his life in the furniture business, still building furniture into his 80's. Norm instilled in all of us the love of building, woodworking and creating; he crafted heirlooms that we will treasure for eternity. He coached all three sons and his grandson's hockey teams, coached and played baseball, even bowled five pin when asked, but one of Norm's greatest loves, was golf, both playing and watching. He had two hole-in-ones, the last one at 87 years of age. He was always happy when he could "golf his age" at Elm Creek Golf and Country Club. Simple pleasures and quiet times were Norm's way. He will be so sadly missed, we all had so much more to learn from him. We are grateful to have had Dad for his time, although too short for us. The love and caring of our mother, kept him with us as long as she could. In compliance with Norm's wishes, no formal Funeral Service will be held...fore! My deepest sympathies and condolences to Grant, Colette & Family on the passing of Grant's Dad. I've never met Norman, but, while working with Colette, whenever Family came up during coffee breaks or lunch, he was always mentioned in a very warm and fond way. He'll be missed, but, never forgotten. - Posted by: Monte Rowe (Work colleague) on: Jan 12, 2016
