DORIS HELEN CALVERT (nee HEMINGSON) Doris passed away after a brief illness on Monday, January 4, 2016. She was born on a farm in Manson, Manitoba on December 20, 1920. Doris was the fifth child in a family of 10 (five girls, five boys). Doris graduated from Nursing School as a R.N., at the Winnipeg/Victoria General Hospital in 1948. Doris loved being a nurse and was well-liked by her patients and staff. She married Jack Calvert in Winnipeg on April 26, 1948. They had three children; Ralph, Garry and Debbie, and granddaughter, Kimberly. They retired to Victoria in 1983 where Doris enjoyed her life. She was a kind, generous, compassionate lady always willing to help others. She loved babies, a good laugh, and a tough word puzzle. Doris was a devoted Christian and we will miss her dearly. Services will be held on Friday, January 8 at 10:00 a.m. at the Centennial United Church in Victoria.
