Date of Passing: Dec 15, 2015
Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryALLAN CHOCHINOV It is with great sorrow that we announce the sudden and unexpected death of Allan Earl Chochinov, on December 15, 2015. He was 65. Allan was a kind and gentle person, who thought of others before himself. He was always willing to help with his father's business when he was needed. He gave presents to his nieces and nephews, while he denied himself any extra comforts. Allan spent many hours printing letters for others, in beautiful calligraphy, in his belief that the letters would help cure their illnesses. Whenever possible, he attended family celebrations, and enjoyed spending time at Winnipeg Beach. He was predeceased by his brother Harold (Hershey), his mother Anne and his father Samuel. Allan is survived by his brother Perry (Dixie-Lee), sister Bev (Peter) and stepmom Janet. He also leaves nieces and nephews, Shira (Eyal), David (Monica), Laura (Fabian), Tamara (Nathan), Louis; and great-nephews and nieces, Maayan, Aviv, Lior, Maor; Leeam, Aaron, Yeshya, Shoshana, Chaya; Aisha, Ayana; Lilly and Jack; uncle Lou; aunt Celia and many cousins. Funeral service and burial were held at the Shaarey Zedek Cemetery on December 18, 2015, with Bill Weissmann officiating. The pallbearers were Perry Chochinov, Peter Mendelson, Louis Mendelson, Nathan Weltman, David Chochinov, Sam Miller, Murray Gilfix, Perry Gilfix and Paul Gerstein. Special thanks to Richard Yaffe for singing a beautiful prayer.
