  • Dorothy worked with me at Statistics Canada. A lovely efficient lady who I loved having as a friend. I was very happy to meet her again after retirement at the Women's Canadian Club of Winnipeg. She was always pleasant and very kind. My sympathy to David, Marilyn, Cameron and Jack and their families. - Posted by: Pat Flaws (Collegue) on: Jan 09, 2016

  • Growing up involved many gatherings with the Hammond family. Auntie Dorothy, Uncle Johnny and the whole Lauder crew were always present when the family got together. I have many fond memories of the Lauders in Winnipeg and at the beach. My memory is slipping but I'm sure they joined us in Minnedosa on occasion. Later in life, after moving away from the family clan in Winnipeg, I always kept in touch with Auntie Dorothy with post cards and Christmas cards. And when I was in Winnipeg, I often got to visit her. What always struck me is how much she knew. She was a wealth of knowledge and saved me embarrassment one time while I was doing a presentation. She came up to me after my presentation to tell me the picture I had was not Steve Juba, but another mayor. No one else noticed it, but Auntie Dorothy did. I will certainly miss her and wish I'd have just one more chance to drop by to say hello. Stephen Hammond. - Posted by: Stephen Hammond (Nephew) on: Jan 09, 2016
