Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryRICKY WILLIAM WOWRYK It is with very heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Ricky William Wowryk, after a long courageous battle with cancer. Rick passed in Arizona on January 7, 2016, at the age of 55 years. Rick was born in Winnipeg and attended Faraday, Isaac Newton, and St. John's High School. Rick was always a hard worker, starting young with the Free Press and ending his career as a merchandise buyer with Pratts Wholesale Ltd. Rick was a family man first - there was nothing he loved more. His children were his pride and joy, the light of his life. Holiday dinners, birthday parties, and backyard bbq's were favourites of his. Rick loved golfing with his son, and his friends in Arizona, and fishing with his mom and children. Rick is survived by his wife: Elizabeth (Katie), son: Richard (Kaleigh), daughter: Dyanna (Kelsey), mother: Jean, brothers: Ray (Sharon), Barry (Bobbie), Ed (Catherine), Len (Tracey), Woody Friesen (Julie), sisters: Shirley Leganchuk (Mel), Sylvia Keller, Elaine Wowryk-Gosselin, Rose (Keith), Darlene, and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his father Harry Wowryk, nephew Christopher Wowryk, and grandparents: Matt and Teenie Kuch, and Roy and Annie Wowryk. Rick's memorial service will be held at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main Street, Winnipeg on Monday, January 25 at 2:00 p.m. The family would like to thank Dr. Ralph Wong and his team, (CancerCare Manitoba) for all the years of dedicated physical and emotional care. Special thanks to Dr. Daeninck and nurse Melanie for their "over the top" care in the last few months. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the "Southern California Hospice Foundation" (3200 Park Center Dr. Suite 1250, Costa Mesa, CA 92626 1-877-661-0087). These amazing people in Mesa, Arizona provided us with constant emotional and physical support, and helped Rick pass with dignity, peace, and without pain. We love and miss you Rick... Dear Katie and family: we are so sad that Rick is no longer with us to share a few chuckles and a Bud or two with Ken. The house on the corner in LW seems sadly empty. How blessed we were to be able to visit for a few moments, to hold his hand and share a bit of love before he passed. Thank you Katie and Dianna for allowing us the time to do so. We send you our deepest condolences and loving thoughts. Vichnaya pamyat, Ricky. - Posted by: Ken and Connie Hemmett (friends) on: Jan 23, 2016
