Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryRON HOLDEN Ron passed away suddenly Monday, January 4, 2016, at St. Boniface Hospital, at the age of 77. He was born January 13, 1938 and grew up in Norwood/St. Boniface. Ron was deeply loved by his family, and will forever be missed. He is survived by his spouse Rhonda Ducharme, brothers Gary (Cheryl), Wayne (Anne), Tim (Cheryl), and sister Judy (Bruce). Ron will be dearly missed by his son Padraig (Margret), grandson Daniel in Denmark; stepson Siggi in Iceland; stepdaughter Amy (Scott) in Winnipeg, and many nieces and nephews. Ron had a special place in his heart for his grandchildren Daniel, Rosco, and Christopher. He cherished visits with his special buddy Rosco and the crazy games they would create. His visits with Rosco would be his main topic of conversation when we talked to Ron. Our brother Ron was a great guy. Everyone who knew him liked him a lot. He was always willing to lend a hand whenever he could help out. He was extremely well-read and knowledgeable on all subjects and loved to talk. He had a special relationship with his vast library of books, loved Latin music, model ship-building, and was a staunch supporter of CBC Radio which he listened to throughout the day and long into the night. Cremation has taken place. The family would be pleased if you would join us in a celebration of Ron's life on Wednesday, January 13, 2016 from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. at the Norwood Legion.

I always thought you were a heck of a good guy Ron. When I was young you were partnered with my mums sister and the two of you created my cousin Padraig Magnus. You were my cousin Siggi's step father for several years. Living in Gimli, I would often travel to Wpg by bus to visit the city and I would stay with you and my cousins. You had a wall of books from floor to ceiling.
