CORYDON ALEXANDER HERSEY It is with heavy hearts that the family announces the passing of Cory Hersey on Wednesday, January 6, 2016 at the very young age of 28 years. Never one to take the easiest avenue, Cory lived life on his own terms and prided himself on generally taking the road less travelled. He was loved by all who were lucky enough to have a relationship with him and he will be remembered and recognized by family and friends alike, for the kindness and consideration that he always exhibited. Cory leaves behind the love of his life, Tiffany Reagh, with whom he has spent the past three years of his life, as well as a loving immediate family that includes his mother and stepfather (Tracey and George Depres), father (Chris Hersey), sister (Erica Hersey) and her partner (Reg Turnbull, Cory's close friend), brother (Jayson Hersey), grandfather (Bob Smith) and his partner (Arlie Chambers). He was predeceased by his maternal grandmother (Ethel Smith) and paternal grandparents (Joyce and Raymond Hersey). In addition, there are a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews that loved him dearly and who will miss his endearing qualities. They and other close friends have also been a source of great strength for the immediate family at this most difficult time, something that we are eternally grateful for. Cory also had friends from coast to coast that have rallied at his passing and the family is also very thankful for the multitude of kind words and wishes that have been expressed. Cory grew up in Winnipeg, attending elementary school at Christ the King, middle school at St. Maurice, a brief period at St. Paul's High School prior to moving to London, Ontario in grade 10. Many of the ensuing years were spent working with his brother and father at Eagle Irrigation, his father's company. Cory spent the last year and a third working construction with the FWS Group of Companies and was anxious to take that career choice to the next level. Cory took great pride in his ability to apply himself to his work and the maturity that developed in recent years was helping him to both define and achieve the goals that he was nurturing. Cory will most certainly be missed by the people that he touched, as he was truly a unique individual that loved life and all that it has to offer. He would not want us to dwell for long with our sorrow, but rather to celebrate the fullness of the life that he experienced. Cremation has taken place and a memorial service celebrating his life will be held on Wednesday, January 13, 2016, at 11:00 a.m. in Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church, 4588 Roblin Boulevard, Winnipeg, MB.
