MARIA RIBBERS It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Maria Ribbers on Wednesday, January 13, 2016. She is survived by her husband and life long partner Theo Ribbers, and her children Willie (Sharon), Harry (Allison), Henry (Selma), Anny (Garth), Agnes (Murray), Ted (Kim), Gary and Maryann (Chad), as well as her 11 grandchildren, four great-grandchildren and many extended family and friends including six brothers and sisters overseas, and also Dina Heller sister-in-law and dear friend. Maria was predeceased by her daughter-in-law, Louise Ribbers, grandson Brian Ribbers, sister Anna Geverink, and brother Garrett Sasse. Mom was born April 8, 1930 in Ruurlo Gelderland (Netherland) and grew up on the family farm and left in 1955 for Canada after meeting Dad, the love her of life. After a few moves they made their home in Headingley, Manitoba and the farm became the center hub of the family and remained their home always. Aside from being the loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, Mom always kept herself busy doing special projects around the home, as well as sewing, knitting and cooking, making meals out of nothing. Mom's passion was in the garden being able to remove a seed from a flower and start a new beginning. Mom although you are no longer here with us you have left us with great memories, we will remember to celebrate the great times, cherish the memories and hold you dear in our hearts. Mass of Christian Burial will be held Saturday, January 16, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Charles Catholic Church, 320 St. Charles Street.
