Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryDAVID STANIER October 24, 1928 - January 5, 2016 Predeceased by wife Joan, parents Mary and William, brother Jim, and sisters Marjorie, Myrtle, and Edith. Left to cherish his memory are three children: Jeffrey (Barb) of Ottawa, Daniel (Leslie) of Winnipeg, and Jennifer of Calgary, and grandchildren Greer and Harris of Ottawa, Amber of Winnipeg, and Sara of Regina. Dave was born in Swan River, Manitoba and grew up in Winnipeg. As a teenager, he was a member of the cadets, an experience he very much enjoyed. In addition to raising three children, Dave worked at Allan Killam McKay, Black & Armstrong, D. Stanier Realty, and the Fort Garry School Division from which he retired in 1986. In his spare time, Dave enjoyed spending time at Crescent Drive Park, Victoria Beach, Gimli, Hecla, and Vancouver Island, and spent many hours volunteering at the Fort Garry Community Club and watching his kids play sports. A memorial will be held at Riverwood Square, 1778 Pembina Hwy. on Friday, February 5, 2016 from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. Should friends and family desire, donations can be made in memory of his wife, Joan, to the Alzheimer Society of Manitoba.
