Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryREINHOLD BRENNER Our loving Dad peacefully passed into the arms of Jesus on Saturday, January 9, 2016. We will miss him deeply. He was predeceased by his cherished wife Hilde (Daase) Brenner (exactly ten years ago to the day), his mother Lydia (Kreitschmann) Brenner and father Wilhelm Brenner, his sister Ida Brenner, brothers Ferdinand, Emil and Erich Brenner. Remaining to cherish Dad's memory are his children Gary (Sharon) Brenner, Vera-Lynne (Bruce) Benson, Kurt (Jody) Brenner, Barbara (Konrad) Funk; grandchildren Erika and Kirsten Brenner, Vanessa, Jessica, Mariah and Tobias Funk, and Paige Brenner; and sisters Olga Koenig, Martha (Horst) Wilhelm, Bertha (Eduard) Tepper; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Reinhold was born in Mydzk, Volhynia, Poland in 1929 and immigrated to Canada in 1951. Dad's passion was music, and he performed in Winnipeg with the German Band, the French Band, the Belgium Band, the Army Band, the Lutheran Church Band and the Assiniboine Community Concert Band. Dad was a natural teacher with a sharp mind. He was a gifted musician, an excellent cook, and a steadfast provider who deeply loved his family. He was the centre of our family, and we loved him dearly. He spoke several languages - German, Polish, English and even some Russian. He taught us by example that, with enough practice and discipline, excellence can be accomplished. One of his favorite passages in the Bible was Psalm 91:2 "I will say to the LORD, "My refuge and my fortress, My God, in whom I trust!" A private ceremony and burial took place on January 14, 2016.
