Condolences & Memories (9 entries)

  • Was a really good friend, I moved away from Winnipeg a long time ago, but Murray was one of the best guy's I have ever known. - Posted by: steven orosz (freind) on: Dec 24, 2019

  • My deepest sympathy to David, Sandra, Grace and their families. Also to all the Camerons and Sigurdsons and their families. I have known Murray and the family for many many years. They lived across the street in the terraces on Pacific, and then down the lane both ways, and then a few doors down from us. Murray you were always the friendliest young boy, and grew up to be such a wonderful friendly man. You will be missed by many. Take Care Murray, we will meet again. • U.Murr, we hold many precious memories of you. I'll always remember your funny character, your outgoing personality, your stories, your jokes, your can-do-anything-and-do-it-well abilities, your quick wit, and that distinctive laugh of yours. I'll also remember the great uncle you were to my brothers and I, right from childhood, from tying our socks together and making us walk, and practicing your wrestling moves on us, to all those times working on cars in uncle Jim's garage where you and uncle Jim mentored us on fixing cars and doing bodywork, to sitting on the deck or around the campfire at the lake chatting about everything in life. You ALWAYS gave good advice. I REALLY miss those days, and wish we can have them back to enjoy all over again... Now you can go affectionately brotherly hurrass dad, keep uncle Jim in check, bug big sis's Aunt Magg and Aunt Judy, and be with granny again. Take care there Studly, we all love you and miss you very very much.. Cheers.. - Posted by: Jamie (Nephew) on: Jan 22, 2016

  • Hulllo?... Hulllo? ...Heyyyy Boo boo? How many thousands of times did Murray answer the phone and keep the caller hanging on and hanging on, followed by a thunderous, raspy laugh. Uncle Murray represented much of the glue that held a large family together. He was strong and stoic; thoughtful and intellectual. He had many interests and passions and loved to learn. Showing Murray and his buddy Bob around the West Coast when they came to visit was fun. He soaked everything in, asked many questions and really enjoyed the adventure. He loved to read, listen and play music and create artistic works. He designed and managed his own commercial website. He was probably an introvert but seemed to enjoy the company of those closest to him most of all; the type of man who would do ANYTHING for a true friend. He was a great uncle who helped my sister and I during our time in Winnipeg and we will always be thankful for having known him. Rest peacefully Uncle Murray. - Posted by: Bob Adie (Nephew) on: Jan 19, 2016

  • RIP Uncle Murray... There is and will be no other like you... You were very unique in your ways. (Black leather vest) always had an answer or comment for everything... Your women jokes were always hilarious and the best to hear on Friday night @ the Brooklands Hotel gong show... And as a kid we'll all miss that big CLAW HAND with the snake bites... You had a big heart! And you'll be missed by all! I'm sure everyone at the gates of Heaven (our family) will be waiting with open arms. My mom especially to welcome her "Baby brother" She always referred to.. HUGS! Rhonda Quenelle - Posted by: Rhonda Quenelle (Niece) on: Jan 18, 2016

  • Dearest brother Murray, I find the song 'my heart will go on' reaches out to you - as you now reunite with our brothers John and Jim, our parents, Aunti Vi and sisters Judy, Margaret and our pets that you took such care with. You have been as like a major Mast on our Family Ship that kept us all asail and above water...a communicative voice to all and master teacher and support within the family, extending out to others. You are now sailing into a New life now Murray, and all will be enriched and grounded with your arrival. Much love always, till we all meet again, on the same shore of new beginnings, sister Grace & Family - Posted by: Grace inga Sigurdson (sister) on: Jan 16, 2016

  • Murray you were not only my uncle but also a big brother and a great friend. You always had the right answers when I had any questions. • Murray you had a huge effect on many people's lives. My only consolation is that you are now with Jim, your Mom and the rest of your family. You were truly a unique person and will be missed by everyone who knew you. You were a true inspiration! You may be gone but you will never be forgotten! - Posted by: Jackie Sigurdson (Sister-in-law) on: Jan 16, 2016

  • Murray, You were such an inspiration to my life. You were there for me and my friends when we got into music. You helped me with everything from working on vehicles to fixing something in my home. You were into so many different things that one person would find overwhelming, and yet you thrived on it. You were a big brother to not only me, but to so many others. You will be missed by so many as you touched the hearts of so many people. Love you brother and miss you dearly. - Posted by: Dave Sigurdson (Brother) on: Jan 16, 2016
