Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryALLAN NEIL DEVISSER April 26, 1932 - January 9, 2015 Al DeVisser passed away peacefully at the Misericordia Heath Centre on January 9, 2016. He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Mona, his children Allison (Harry), Kevin (Missy), Erin (Tom), and Kara, grandchildren Lisa, Tierra, Derek (Keri-Lynn), Jessica (Alex), Alanna (Ryan), Mitchell, and Mikaela, and his great-grandson Murdock, along with his sisters Heather and Edna, sister-in-law Bernice, and many nieces and nephews. His memory will be cherished by Chuck his partner in all things hunting and fishing. He was predeceased by his parents Doris and Marinus DeVisser, his brother Ken, sister Sheila, brothers-in-law Bob and Ray, and sister-in-law Joyce. Al spent most of his working life in transportation. First as a truck driver and then in many other office roles. Most of those years with Arnold Bros. Transport, where he made many lasting friendships and passed on his relentless work ethic. When not working, you would usually find him in the bush hunting or on the lake fishing with good friends and family. When his kids were young there were many camping trips to Wallace Lake. In later years Al and Mona purchased a little piece of paradise in the town of Steep Rock and soon became a part of the community and made numerous friends there, in doing so they have passed on the love of Steep Rock to their children, whom are all now also a part of that community. There were many nights passed with friends and family in the back porch having a Rum or two. It was also during this time that he purchased and refurbished a wooden fishing boat which provided his family with hours of lake fun. He and Mom loved to travel and spent many winters getting away, flying to a sun destination or driving south to visit friends. He encouraged his kids to do the same and loved to hear about our adventures. Our family would like to thank the staff at the Riverview and Misericordia Heath Centres who treated him with care and compassion. It was Al's wish not to have a funeral service. In lieu of flowers, please donate to the Alzheimer Society.

We have known Al and Mona for over 50 years & traveled with them to Florida, Nassau & Mexico, and enjoyed every minute. Al was a quiet man but he sure could "put on the miles" when we were on the Highway. We never got to see the ghost that "lived" in their home at Steep Rock. - Posted by: Bonnie & Wayne Kasper (Cousin and Intercontinental Travellers) on: Jan 16, 2016
