MURIELLE JEAN KURTZ
Date of Passing: Jan 07, 2016
Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryMURIELLE JEAN KURTZ After a long and blessed life, Murielle passed away peacefully on January 7, 2016 at the age of 93. Murielle leaves to cherish her memory, sons: Ed (Sandra), Ernie (Sherrill), Don (Lois), Doug (Cheryl), Ken (Arliss) and daughters: Carole Duke and Jean (Rod). Murielle was predeceased by Ernest, her husband of 70 years, and son-in-law Glen Duke. Murielle worked in the home providing loving support not only to her immediate family but years of in-home care to her parents Albert and Ann Jearum. Memories are everlasting of the weekly gatherings with mother and father-in-law Caroline and Andreas Kurtz followed by a stop at the Dairy-Dell on their ride home to East Kildonan. Mom never learned to ride a bike or drive a car so she kept fit walking to Cy's Tomboy and Serve-Well to pick up groceries before carrying them home. Her moments of "spare time" were spent knitting, watching the Lawrence Welk Show and Hockey Night in Canada, playing solitaire and five pin bowling. Murielle and Ernest were blessed with seven children, 19 grandchildren and 31 great-grandchildren. She was a God-loving woman who cared for and loved her family, proudly acknowledging their accomplishments and helping them succeed. The family extends special thanks to Golden West Centennial Lodge, especially the nurses and caregivers on the second floor who ensured Mom's final year and a half were spent in a loving environment of care and compassion. Cremation has taken place and the family will celebrate Murielle's life later in May. Charitable donations welcomed by your charity of choice.
