JEAN (JOHN) LANOIE It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of John, on Friday, January 15, 2016, with his loving family by his side. John will be greatly missed by his loving wife Margaret, children: (Sunhee), Caroline (Trevor), Marcel (Tammy), Joanne (Wesley), grandchildren: Colin; Adrian, Eden; Mikayla, Alexis, Hunter, as well as his sisters, Rose and Marie and sister-in-law Eleanor. There are also numerous relatives and friends who will remember him. John was predeceased by his parents, Hyacinthe and Mary Jane, brother Rene, brother-in-law Rene, and recently his son Gordon. John was born in Winnipeg on June 24, 1940 and grew up in La Salle. He moved to Thompson in 1963 and married Margaret Andries in 1964. They raised their family in Thompson, then moved to Winnipeg in 1996. He worked for INCO for 31 years. John was an active lifetime member of the Knights of Columbus, holding positions of Grand Knight and in the Fourth Degree. He was also a compassionate person devoted to volunteering in the community, and a family man whose grandkids were a constant source of happiness and pride to him. A funeral mass with a Knights of Columbus honour guard will be held at Mary Mother of the Church, 85 Kirkbridge Dr., on Wednesday, January 20, 2016 at 1:00 p.m. Interment will be at St. Hyacinthe Cemetery, La Salle. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in John's name to Parkinson Canada. Memories can be left at www.Cropo.com
