Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemorySIMONE MONDOR (nee DELORME) February 23, 1937 - January 15, 2016 It is with pain in our hearts that we announce the passing of Simone Mondor, our beloved wife, mother and grandmother, at the age of 78 years. Simone was predeceased by her son Marc, her parents Adolphe and Delia Delorme, her sister Helene and her brother Joseph. Left to cherish her memory are her husband Jean (John) Mondor; her daughters, Joanne and Danielle (Paul); grandchildren, Daveed, Helena and Cossette; her son Alain; her sisters, brothers-in-law and numerous nieces and nephews. After growing up in St. Adolphe, Simone ventured out to Winnipeg, eventually training and working as an x-ray technician. She performed her work with great joy and pride that she could be of service to others in this capacity. As a wife and mother, she gave of herself selflessly in the care of the home and her family, always ensuring that we had a smooth running household. As a grandmother, she enjoyed being in the presence of her grandchildren, interacting with them always with a twinkle in her eye. As a woman, Simone was shy, unless you found her doing the things she enjoyed, such as dancing and playing cards. She was a woman of few words, unless you gave her reason to be angry, and boy, did you hear what she had to say! She was also very self-disciplined, rarely missing her daily fitness walks. The word that would describe Simone the most however, is that she was a fighter. Her strength of spirit served her well in life, especially during her last year as her health started to fail more significantly. As a family, we were continually amazed at how she pulled through her hospitalizations and were blessed in being able to be with her a little bit longer. But her body could no longer go on during her last and very brief visit at the St. Boniface Hospital. Thank you to the staff who cared for Simone. Thank you to the friends and family who visited her both at home and at the hospital in the last year, as this brought her happiness. A very special thank you, coming from a deeply grateful heart, to Dad and Joanne, who cared for Mom daily and lovingly, right up to her last breath. A celebration of Simone's life will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, January 23, 2016 at Glen Lawn Funeral Home, 455 Lagimodiere Blvd. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Paix et Developpement, a charity that was special to her. Family and friends wishing may sign a book of condolence at www.glenlawn.ca. Glen Lawn Funeral Home 982-7550
