DOROTHY IDA LANGRIDGE (nee REEVES) Peacefully on January 18, 2016 at the Grace General Hospital, Dorothy Langridge passed away at the age of 98 years. Dorothy was born November 24, 1917 in Winnipeg. She was predeceased by her parents, Ethel and Ernest Reeves, her sister Kathleen, husband Ken and their daughter Elaine Molinski. She is survived by son-in-law Tom Molinski, her son Jim, his wife Evelyn and grandchildren Ryan ( Demi ) and Amy, as well as her nieces Donna Zanzow ( Tom ) and Carol Hawkins, and their extended families. She also leaves to mourn her loss her very good friends Joyce Seney, Flora Mulholland and Betty Aitcheson. Dorothy grew up in St. James where she met and made lifelong friends in Flora and the late Irene Powell. She later moved to Charleswood with her family. She and her husband were gifted land up the street from the Reeves' family residence where they built a home together when they were married July 17, 1954. As a young woman she attended University College in Winnipeg and was a member of the Eastern Star Chalet, Shrine Women's Auxiliary and the Charleswood United Church. She was also a member of the Charleswood Historical Society. Prior to starting a family she worked as a secretary and travelled with her parents and friends. She was able to continue her love of travel with her husband Ken and later in years visited England, France, Spain and Morocco, California, Arizona and Hawaii, Hong Kong, Australia and New Zealand. She was also able to travel on a cruise to Alaska. She spoke fondly on many occasions about how much she enjoyed a trip with Jim and family to Toronto and Niagara Falls for a friend's 90th birthday. Her hobbies included knitting, crocheting, cooking, puzzles of all types and gardening. The family wishes to thank the staff of the Grace General Hospital (Drs. George and Joshua) and the nursing staff of 5N on the 5th floor for their excellent care. They would also like to acknowledge the care and special relationship with the staff and residents of the Wellington. She will be missed by all who knew her. In lieu of flowers, a donation can be made to The Heart and Stroke Foundation. Funeral Service will be held at Charleswood United Church, 4820 Roblin Blvd. at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, January 26, 2016.
