I first met Gary when we worked together at Project Planning Associates in Toronto in the late 60's. We were designing portions of the University of guelph campus. The budding of our enduring friendship was lie a spring bud turning into a flower. Gary left to start his practice in Winnipeg and we kept in touch by meeting at conventions and other events. Every moment was full of laughter and new adventures. What an incredibly inventive mind and joy to be with. Gary, your spirit remains alive and with me. The Hildermans lived just down the street from us. As teenagers we spent lots of time going to football games for the high schools and riding bikes for weiner roastts. I moved away but my mother was on Centennial street until 2008 so I was back and forth. I was always so proud of Garry's work around the city when I heard about it. Condolences to all who loved him. - Posted by: Judie Wolfenden (Curran) (Neighbour from Centennial St.) on: Mar 01, 2016

Garry's mother was my mothers sister. I remember, when we were very young, having to take the Portage, Main streetcar from Queen St. and changing at Selkirk Ave to where they lived at the time. Later, my Uncle Vic bought an old car he called his "Jalopy". We spent some time at Grand Beach at our cottage. Our families visited back and forth especially at Christmas. It was easier when they built a home in River Heights. In later years we did not see much of each other except for the occasional lunch. Garry was an exceptional person. - Posted by: Edward Morris Barker (Cousin) on: Feb 12, 2016

To Garry, who was a lively creative loving and positive man with whom we had so much fun, and who was a loving partner to our very good friend, Faye Hellner . - Posted by: Sandra and Howard Jacobs (friends from England) on: Jan 26, 2016
