ANN SMITH
Born: Jun 20, 1931
Date of Passing: Jan 15, 2016
Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryANN SMITH Peacefully, on Friday, January 15, 2016, with family by her side, Ann lost her 18 month battle to cancer at the Health Sciences Centre at the age of 84 years. Remaining to mourn Ann's passing are her daughters, Arlene and Debbie (Jim); grandchildren, Brittany (Cody) and Jennifer; brother Mike; numerous nieces; nephews; and her four-legged friend, Ruff. She was predeceased by her husband Charlie, whom she missed so much; Mom and Dad, Rose and John; brothers, Frank and Walter; as well as sisters, Violet, Helen, Olga and Claire. On June 20, 1931, Ann was born in Winnipeg, Manitoba. She worked when she was younger but remained home to raise her daughters. Ann married our father on his birthday and they were inseparable until his passing in 2011. She loved to cook and bake and her holiday dinners she made for her family were unbelievable. Ann's granddaughters loved going to her house for sleepovers and baking cookies with Gramma when they were little. We will carry on her tradition of family getting together for holiday feasts! We miss you so much Mom, but we are so relieved that you are out of pain now and are now back with Dad. In compliance with Mom's wishes, a private family gathering will be held. The family would like to thank the staff at Health Sciences Centre for their compassion and making Mom comfortable, and Dr. Patricia Harris for taking good care of our Mom. In lieu of flowers, donations in Ann's memory may be made to CancerCare Manitoba, 675 McDermot Ave., Winnipeg, Manitoba R3E 0V9. Wojcik's Funeral Chapels & Crematorium, Winnipeg, 2157 Portage Avenue, 204.897.4665 www.wojciksfuneralchapel.com. "Rest in peace our beloved Mom and Gramma."
