PAUL (JONATHAN) WARD (1959 - 2015) Two of Paul's greatest joys in life were riding his motorcycle and spending time with his faithful dog Sweetpea. Big in stature but a teddy bear to all who knew him, he lived for the time spent on his Harley Davidson, the wind in his hair and a smile on his face. One of Paul's dreams was to attend the Sturgis motorcycle rally, and although his illness and untimely passing prevented his getting there in person, good friend Rob Wall and other pals from his workplace took his ashes and spirit with them on that final journey in August of 2015. Released from a hilltop at the event he dreamed of going to, Paul will be forever in the wind. Sadly missed by friends and family, and daily in our thoughts. Paul Ward, May 25, 1959 - January 23, 2015. Ride forever free Paul. Our thoughts of you are forever in our mind. We love you!

Thank you Kris Anderson for sharing your memories of Paul. He touched many lives (countless) all very memorable to the heart I always knew he very was special, always a happy giving soul, there is not a day since he has passed that I don't think of him. Remembering his cheery, sometimes off the wall sense of humour, with a big smile and laugh that was often heard. A Very happy and loving soul that will continually be remember and cherished in all those who Paul has touched throughout his life time. I loved him very much. Thank you! - Posted by: Patricia (Common-Law Wife ) on: Feb 13, 2016

My condolences to those who knew Paul as I was not aware of his passing until last weekends memorium column. My contact with Paul was brief but represented a turning point in life whereas he sold me my very first Harley. Way back in 1985 I began looking for my first bike and it had to be a Harley and nothing but. I seen an ad in the newspaper and called about the bike. I spoke to Paul while he was working on air in Brandon and we agreed on a price for the bike although it would have to be payed for and picked up in Selkirk at his parents place. I still remember going to Selkirk with a friend to pick (Old Betsy up as I called her back then). She had no starter drive so we had to push start her and what a ride back to Winnipeg it was as I had only driven a motorcycle once in my life before. Paul offered to provide me with a box of and other assorted parts but I never did get around to picking this up. I never did meet Paul until a few years later at a Rolling Thunder social where he was the M.C. and I approached him to ask if he was the Paul Ward who sold me the bike which he indeed was and we chatted for a bit never to meet again. That bike provided me with 20 memorable years of riding service and in which time I meticuliously rebuilt and maintained it in factory original condition until I bought New Betsy in 2006. A good friend of mine from Alberta purchased Old Betsy from me that same year and I shipped it out to him. Came time when my friend wanted a newer model Harley he sold it to a good friend of his where its still riden today. The 1981 Harley Davidson Lowrider was and always will be a beautiful bike and I felt privileged to have been able to keep it up after its original owner had to part with it. Thanks Paul for the gift you provided me with in selling me old Betsy for it brought me many years of riding pleasure and opened up a world I was much more akin to belonging to and still do. Some day I'm sure I'll join you way up above just not yet but for now rest in peace Brother and enjoy the ride knowing that Old Betsy's still out there going as strong as ever. - Posted by: Kris Anderson (New Owner) on: Jan 25, 2016
