MARY EVELYN SCHOOR
Date of Passing: Jan 22, 2016
Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryMARY EVELYN SCHOOR With a heavy heart I must say goodbye to my mom. She left us peacefully on Friday, January 22, 2016. She was 89. She was predeceased by her father James Marks; her mother Wilhelmina Marks; brothers James "Jimmy", Raymond, and George "Doede"; sisters Lillian McKnight and Pauline "Pap" Jodoin. She leaves behind her daughter Sherry Schoor, her two granddaughters Carley and Michelle, and one great-granddaughter Stevie Love. She will be missed by many nieces and nephews. Everybody loved Aunt Evelyn. Mom was a social butterfly, with an uncanny sense of humour and a contagious laugh. She had a beautiful smile. She enjoyed life to the fullest and never passed up the opportunity to make new friends. Her grandchildren and great-grandchild brought immense joy to her life. Many a sleepover was had with "Nan"; and she loved every single one. I could never have hoped for a better mother. I was incredibly blessed. We love you and you will remain in our hearts forever. I know Mom is smiling in heaven somewhere now! Funeral Service 10:00 a.m., Friday, January 29, 2016 at Bardal Funeral Home, 843 Sherbrook St., Winnipeg with visitation one hour prior. Sheri, your mum was the best I've ever met. She loved you and the girls with all her heart. You guys were her life. And from experience I think she treated all of your friends as if they were her own kids. Whether she liked them or not; and that she was clear about, no doubt. Even my kids, Ashton especially, she treated almost like an extension of her own family. She ALWAYS made me laugh, sometimes she was funnier when she was angry, if that's possible. That's a trait your mum just seemed to have. I wish I had come up to visit with you a lot more than I did. I feel like I should have been there to say goodbye too. Well, I'm tearing up now so I'm just gonna send her a hug and a kiss and say "Have fun Nan!" I'd say rest in paradise, but I know she won't be resting, she's done enough of that here! She'll be havin' a blast of a time where she is now. LOL....stealin' all her neighbours' lawn chairs. Love you Nan. Love you Sheri. Love you Carley & Michelle. - Posted by: Rhonda (Friend to Sheri of 30yrs) on: Jan 29, 2016

Mary was awesome. She let me live with her when I needed a place to stay. She never asked for anything except that I clean up after myself and keep Sherry in line....haha. She was loving and kind and always had a smile for me and something good to say. She will be missed. I cannot attend the service, but I will be thinking of you all at that time. My prayers and love are with Sherry, and the girls. xoxo - Posted by: Shan McClune (She was my second Mom. ) on: Jan 27, 2016
