LYNN HENOCH It is with broken hearts that we announce the passing of our "warrior woman" our dear Lynn. She began her life's journey on May 24, 1946, left this world on Friday morning, January 29, 2016, corresponding with the 19th day of Shvat, 5776. Lynn was surrounded by the loving energy of her family, hands interwoven in peace with her devoted husband, her life's soul mate and twin flame of 47 years, Morris. Lynn was met at the peaceful gates of the next world by her loving parents, Rita and Mickey Klapman and mother-in-law Sarah Henoch. Left to carry on her beautiful legacy is her loving husband Morris; her children, Jerrod and Mary Henoch, Seth Henoch and Ardith Henoch; and her four most precious treasures, grandchildren, Noah Phoenix, Maia Rose, Emunah Sarah and Matanelle Paba. Lynn will be forever missed by her two sisters and brothers-in-law, Shaaron and Hymie Weinstein, Hilarie Klapman and Guy Staughton; sister and brother-in-law Ruth and Chuck Narvey; and father-in-law Maier Henoch. Her memory will be a constant blessing for her nieces and nephews, endless loving family and dear friends. Lynn and Morris created a home together with doors wide open of tradition and generosity. She reminded countless friends and family that children are not just raised by their own families, but by the love and support of people who genuinely and deeply care about the extended family and community around them. This was Lynn's finest form of loving affection. The doors of her home were her loving arms. Lynn was a remarkably dedicated teacher. She devoted her time to the Early Childhood Education Council both as an active member and president. Her extensive teaching career included Winnipeg schools, West St. Paul, Montrose, Luxton and Shaughnessy Park. She was a driving force in drama programs, art clubs and Inner City Art Conferences. Her inspiration and creativity instilled the love of learning in every child she taught. Lynn inspired endless numbers of children to be artists, and also created many artists out of teachers. Lynnie wanted the best for everyone she loved. Whether she was at Winnipeg Beach, Falcon Lake, with her loving family at the holiday table, sending a package across the ocean or down the highway, late nights with dear friends, at the pottery studio, in her classroom, or sharing a glass of wine with neighbours. She wanted things to be special and with that, came some wonderful magic, and generosity. She absolutely "sweated the small stuff", and in doing so will forever remind us that it really matters. All her worrying and list making meant that she thought you were special and wanted everything to feel special. Lynn was a woman of valour. And also and forever will be a woman of clay. Of creativity and colour. She was made of earth and zest. Wine and flowers. Of words and flavor. And of texture. Sweet, spicy and a little crunchy. In many ways she was like the pottery she created. Beautiful and eccentric. It's impossible to know where each piece is, as they are scattered on so many peoples shelves and tables - interwoven into so many peoples lives, homes, rituals, experiences and memories. We will miss her, but we will remember to do what we love and with whom we love. Lynn, Mom, Savta, Auntie Lynnie - may you rest in the garden, may you swim with the loons at the lake, and may you fly, peacefully like a dove. The funeral took place on Sunday, January 31, at 2:45 p.m. at Congregation Etz Chayim. Lynn was peacefully laid to rest at the B'nai Abraham Cemetery. Donations to honour Lynn's legacy can be made to CancerCare Manitoba Foundation, March of the Living, and the Kaufman Silverberg Library at the Asper Jewish Community Campus. Lynn (Knapman) Henoch was my grade 4 teacher at West St. Paul School. She was an energetic, talented, fun loving and caring teacher. I have always viewed my grade 4 year as my favorite grade and Mrs. Henoch definitely was the person who defined that for me. I had always wanted to be a teacher and was fortunate enough to take my training at the U of M where I would sometimes meet her in the pool changing room with one of her children. I was also able to see her at some teacher inservices in more recent years. She always greeted me as a friend and I sensed the same caring spirit that I had from her as a child. I'm pretty sure that I was and am one of her biggest fans. My deep condolences to the family. Her energy was always positive and loving and I am certain that she was deeply loved and therefore will be deeply missed. May God comfort you as you journey forward. Lynn will be a part of my life forever - every time I look at a book I automatically categorize it into one of the four seasons, or the genre to which it belongs. When I go to a simcha I automatically notice the décor and appreciate the work that went into achieving it. She rarely complained, and took each day as it came, something we can all aspire to. Rest in peace my friend. - Posted by: Andea Hollenberg (Frfiend) on: Feb 06, 2016

It is sadness that I woke to receive the obituary of Lynn. It seemed like a bad dream. Could it be?!? But Lynn is too young, too vibrant, too alive to leave this world. I got to know know Lynn and her loving spouse Morris through my niece and nephews close friendships with huge ir children. I got to know an open, loving, and caring home. An educating home. I am so sorry for the loss to the family , but know that they will continue to live the spirit and love through Lynn's eyes. Nathan Jacobson - Posted by: Nathan Jacobson (Friend) on: Feb 06, 2016
