MARJORIE WILSON (SINGLETON)
Date of Passing: Jan 29, 2016
Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryMARJORIE WILSON (nee SINGLETON) On Friday, January 29, 2016, just weeks before her 98th birthday, Mom passed away peacefully. She was predeceased by her husband Bruce, and survived by her loving children: son Terry of Victoria, BC, daughters Wendy (Ron) and Mary (Scott); her grandchildren Rory (Erin), Matt (Janelle), Heather (Manny), Chris (Dayna) and great-grandchildren Rylee, Casey, Danika, Corie-Lee, and Mia. Mom was born in Winnipeg and after marrying Bruce they began their life in Sudbury, ON. In 1949, along with two children, they moved to South Africa and Europe for two and a half years. On returning to Winnipeg they bought a home in Wildwood Park. They resided there for much of their lives where she was involved with the Wildwood Club, volunteering and caring for her family. Mom and Dad shared the joy of travel and had the opportunity to visit numerous countries around the world. Mom's three passions in this world were: Children (she couldn't pass up an opportunity of greeting a child wherever she was); Writing letters (Mom wrote to everyone from Hooters to the Dalai Lama), and Curling (during curling season you never phoned her when a game was on). She will be forever loved. Afterglow I'd like the memory of me to be a happy one. I'd like to leave an afterglow of smiles when life is done I'd like to leave an echo whispering softly down the ways of happy times and laughing times and bright and sunny days I'd like the tears of those who grieve to dry before the sun of happy memories that I leave when life is done According to Mom's wishes cremation has taken place and no formal services will be held. A gathering to remember Mom will be held at The Portsmouth, 125 Portsmouth Blvd. on Friday, February 5, 2016 from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. Donations may be made to Ronald McDonald House or children's charity of your choice. I will always remember a warm and generous woman who welcomed us at her home in Wildwood Park and also many phone conversations I had with her after her moves. - Posted by: Marjorie Richards (friend) on: Feb 02, 2016

From another old Wildwood Park'er...so sorry to hear of your mom's passing. I fondly remember being greeted by her smile and laughter, on our many visits to your home on South Drive. In later years, my mom and I would drive by to revisit Wildwood Park, and to see the turkeys in the front yard! Lots of good memories. - Posted by: Lynne Ransby () on: Feb 02, 2016
