FREDA ELIZABETH WEIGELT (nee STEBNER) Peacefully on January 27, 2016, Freda Weigelt, aged 86 years of Moosehorn, MB, passed away at the Lakeshore General Hospital in Ashern, MB. Freda was born April 26, 1929 in Grahamdale, MB. She was baptized and confirmed in St. John's Lutheran Church and also received her schooling there. She was the ninth child of a family of eleven children born to Martin and Louise Stebner. On October 24, 1952 she married Albert Weigelt in St. Paul's Lutheran Church in New Home. Together they started farming in the Parker School District and had a family of four children. When St. Paul's Church closed, they became members of Peace Lutheran Church in Moosehorn, MB. Albert was a school bus driver for many years and Freda was his spare driver. This ended when Albert passed away in 1988. After 36 years of farming, Freda remained on the farm with her son Marlin. She also maintained a large garden and yard with a colorful variety of flowers. She enjoyed singing in the choir for several years and taking part in the Care Home Services. Freda learned to play the accordion. She loved music and song and playing her favourite hymns on the organ. This gave her a feeling of tranquility. Family gatherings usually ended up with a good old country gospel sing-a-long. Freda enjoyed spending time in the kitchen and always produced many wonderful meals, snacks and desserts for her family and friends. Freda had deep faith, always giving thanks to the countless blessings given to her and for the most precious gift of Eternal Life. In the autumn of 2012, Freda moved to the Moosehorn Heritage Manor. She is survived by her sons Arden (Barb), Marlin and Norman (JoAnne); grandchildren Heather (Ryan), Brian (Erin), Laura (Scott), Katie (Curtis), Candice (Ken), Jodie (Will), Kelly (Rod), Bailee (Mike) and April (Kyle); great-grandchildren Logan, Warrick, Gerard, Ethan, Breanne, Mya, Charli, Madison, Marshal, Gabriel, Corwin and Nolin; sisters Alice, Martha and Marion (Bernard); sisters-in-law Bernice, Ella (Peter), Lorraine (Bob), Eleanora (Bob) and Evelyn; brothers-in-law Herbie and Eddie, special nephew Don (Deanna) along with other family members. Freda was predeceased by her husband Albert, daughter Lori, her parents Martin and Louise, in-laws Reinhart and Emma, siblings Olga, Tillie (Fred), Wanda, Ida (Ferdinand), Martin and two sisters in infancy; sister-in-law Elizabeth; brothers-in-law Hank, Henry, Julius (Irma), Arnold and Art. Cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 6, 2016 in the Peace Lutheran Church in Moosehorn, MB with Pastor Leslie Poulin officiating. Interment to be held at a later date in the New Home Cemetery. Everyone in the congregation can consider themselves Honorary Pallbearers. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Peace Lutheran Church Memorial Fund, PO Box 68, Moosehorn, MB, R0C 2E0. Our family wishes to thank the doctors, nurses and staff of the Lakeshore General Hospital and the Home Care staff. Special thanks to Auntie Martha and Joyce for the long trips they made to visit Mom. Arrangements by: ARNASON FUNERAL HOME Ashern Lundar 1-204-768-2072 1-866-323-3593
