DOROTHY HAZEL REKKEN (HALLICK) Dorothy Rekken, aged 94, of Fargo, ND, passed peacefully on Saturday, January 30, in Fargo, ND. Dorothy was born August 4, 1921 at St. Francois Xavier, Manitoba, Canada to Julius and Pauline "Hazel" (Rattai) Hallick. She grew up on a farm by Starbuck, Manitoba. Dorothy married Oswald "Ozzie" Rekken of Horace, ND, September 27, 1947 in Winnipeg, Manitoba. In 1950, she became a citizen of the United States. They made their home in north Fargo. They had three children, June, Steven and Shirley. Before retiring, she worked at the Fargo Clinic for 24 years. Dorothy is survived by two daughters, June (David) Sanders, Moorhead, MN, and Shirley (Alan) Sundeen, Chaska, MN, daughter-in-law Charlotte Rekken, Fergus Falls, MN, nine grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, brother, Barry (Pat) Hallick of Transcona, Manitoba, several relatives in the Winnipeg area, and special friend, Avis Gustafson. She was preceded in death by her parents and stepparents, Elsie (Klemas) Hallick, Jack Lindgren, her husband Ozzie, son Steven, brother George (Leona) Hallick of Starbuck, Manitoba, nephew Darrell Hallick, niece Tracey Deley, and sister, Frances (Bruce) Hannon of Calgary, Alberta. Funeral: Saturday, February 6, 2016, 10:30 a.m. at Messiah Lutheran Church, Fargo, North Dakota. Visitation: Friday, February 5, 2016 from 5:00 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Hanson-Runsvold Funeral Home, followed by a Prayer Service at 7:00 p.m. Burial: Riverside Cemetery, Fargo, North Dakota.
