Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryMATTHEW BRIAN JOHN MCDOWELL (FOREVER) (BOFFIN) September 13, 1975 - January 31, 2016 It is with great sorrow that we announce the sudden passing of our beloved Matt, father, brother, son, uncle and friend. He will be sadly missed by his daughter Anna Marie and her sister, Chloe. He also leaves behind his family Samara Prystenski and Greg Hanna; his parents, Allan and Ann McDowell; his siblings Mary-Ann, Mark (Reina), Wil Zehr; nephews, Cody, Connor, Kyle, Benjamin; and niece Katie as well as many other family and friends. Matt was a dedicated caring father with a big heart and was always willing to lend a hand to those in need. His avid love of the Toronto Maple Leafs was well known and something he taught his nephews at an early age. Matt was an extremely intelligent and gifted person with many talents. He owned a landscaping and management company for years, and worked with his, mentor, friend and brother Greg on many endeavors. He could be often found tinkering on his latest project or fixing something for a friend thus earning him his nickname Boffin. Visitation 7:00 to 9:00 p.m., Thursday, February 4 at Bardal Funeral home, 843 Sherbrook St.. Funeral service 1:00 p.m. Friday, February 5 followed by a reception. Burial will take place in the St. Vital Cemetery. In lieu of flowers a trust fund has been set up for his daughter Anna Marie at the St. Boniface Caisse Populaire account #740415. Ann, Allan, Mary Ann, Mark & Families: You have been in our hearts, thoughts and prayers all week and will be for many days & weeks. I know your Family and Friends will always be there for you. We often think of the times together with our "2 Marks & 2 Brians". Unfortunately we never got a "Mary Ann"! The memories and photos will always be with us.
