MYRTLE SUSAN DUECK 1933 - 2016 In loving memory of Myrtle Dueck a wife, mother and grandmother. Myrtle was predeceased by her husband George in 2008. She is survived by her children Cynthia (Phil), Randal (Maria), and Kathleen; granddaughter Jordon, and siblings Esther, Irene and Walter (Jean). Myrtle worked at Health Sciences Centre for years where she made many friends. She loved to entertain, was a veracious reader and would never miss the St. Vital Book Sale. She loved her classical music. As the years progressed, her health took away many of the things she had loved to do such as golfing, gardening, walking, biking and cross country skiing. Memorial Service 1:30 p.m., Saturday, February 6, 2016 at Bardal Funeral Home, 843 Sherbrook St. with visitation one hour prior. Donations in Myrtle's memory may be made to the Mennonite Central Committee. Bardal Funeral Home 843 Sherbrook St., 204-774-7474 Condolences www.bardal.ca Parking behind funeral home

Myrtle was a dear friend that I was so lucky to connect with. Before she moved into the apartment, she lived on our street. Feisty, fun, quirky, outspoken, opinionated, determined and loving are some words that come to my mind when I think of her. Like Debbie, I am so sad to have missed her funeral. Myrtle was full of great stories and anecdotes and she loved her family fiercely. I have great recipes, stories and memories (including the St.Vital Book Sale!) from our time together. I shall miss her dearly. - Posted by: Angela Chartrand (Friend) on: Feb 09, 2016

I have very fond memories as a child growing up with Kathleen, having "big pancakes" (rolled crepes with jam and sugar) and spending time with the family. Myrtle was always so kind and tolerant of my mischievous ways. I found out many years later that my antics were treasured family stories. In the last few years I had the opportunity to reconnect with Myrtle in a professional capacity and was truly moved by the determination and strength of this fine woman despite her health issues. That she remembered me at all and had such encouraging and insightful things to tell me will always stay with me. My heart truly aches for the family at their loss, and my thoughts and prayers are with them now and always. I'm just gutted that I found out hours too late to attend the service this afternoon but please know I would have come if I could have and if there is anything I can do, call me. With love, Debbie - Posted by: Debbie Drew (Family / Childhood friend) on: Feb 06, 2016

I worked with Myrtle at The Manitoba Co-operator. She was a constant source of amusement with her refreshing bluntness and great sense of humour. I thoroughly enjoyed her company. My sympathies to all your family on the loss of a unique, wonderful lady. - Posted by: Nancy Arason (Co-worker) on: Feb 05, 2016
