KAREN BATES (nee HYDE) It is with heavy hearts that we announce that Karen has passed away peacefully, while holding the hand of her best friend and husband. Our beloved mother, wife, grandmother, sister and friend joined her mother Matilda Hyde (Sawatzky) and father Charles Hyde. She is survived by her husband Robert Biggs, her three children; Lindsay Cushnie (Curtis), Crystal Bates and Shelagh Clarke, along with seven grandchildren whom she adored. She will be missed by her siblings Donna Kabecz (Ken), Marion Pryce (Don), Lucy Chambers and Gordon Hyde (Kathy) and many nieces and nephews. A huge thank you to her doctors, Dr. Fatoye and Dr. Ashley for the amazing care you provided her for so many years and never giving up. Also the nurses in Oncology at Seven Oaks who made her treatments a day to look forward to. Thanks to the staff at Seven Oaks Hospital fifth floor, units one and two and the staff at Riverview palliative care. Her memory will be cherished forever and we will miss you every day with all our hearts. Cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, February 10, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel of Voyage Funeral Home, 220 Hespeler at Henderson Hwy.
