ROBERT PATTERSON
Born: May 17, 1939
Date of Passing: Jan 26, 2016
Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryROBERT (GARY) PATTERSON Robert Gary Patterson was born in Russell, Manitoba on May 17, 1939 to Bill and Evelyn Patterson. After a courageous fight with cancer Gary passed away peacefully in the company of his daughter at Victory Hospital on January 26, 2016. Gary was predeceased by his parents, brother Jim Patterson and wife of 40 years, Svea Lorraine Patterson (Jocobson). Gary is survived by his children Corey, Kelly, Angie, Shauna, Tracy and Ryan. Also left behind to cherish his memory are his sister Delores Matheson (husband Jack), his sister-in-law Anne Anderson, and brother-in-law Carl Jacobson. As well he leaves behind many nieces, nephews, grandchildren and friends. Gary was a friendly, gregarious man who made friends easily. He was good at telling a story and enjoyed making people laugh. He was an animated man with a persistent, stubborn quality that could be easily worn away with humour. He kept his humour until the end and will be missed by all those who knew him. It is with our deepest sadness that he will no longer continue to surprise us with his wit, yet it is with great comfort that we say goodbye knowing that he is now free to rest in peace.

My grandmother lived across the street from the Pattersons in Russell and I met Gary when I arrived from New Zealand to stay with her. I know where Gary was on 11th September 1956 because he took me to a movie ....it was my 16th Birthday. I always had a soft spot for Gary even when I returned to New Zealand. I am glad he had a good life and obviously a nice family. Rest in Peace old friend.x - Posted by: Joan Jameson (Coulter) (Friend) on: Jul 13, 2020

Uncle Gary I'm glad I got to know you better in recent years, although we were in and out of touch during that time I will always remember your humor and down-to-earth attitude. My thoughts are with you and your family. "And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away." - Posted by: Bob Patterson (Nephew) on: Feb 08, 2016
