Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryGRANT THORSTEINSON October 20, 1953 - February 2, 2016 It is with profound sadness the family announces the sudden passing of Grant after his battle with cancer. Left to cherish his memory is his loving wife Kathy, their children Corey (Kim), Krista (Richard), and Blair (Kristen), his cherished grandchildren: Leah, Signy, Angelo, Ariana, and Ava. He also leaves his mother Inga, brothers Marvin (Tina), Robbie (Debbie), and sisters Fern (Jerry), Lorna (Brian), Cora (Glen), and Ivy (Norman), as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Grant was predeceased by his father Leonard, and in-laws Bill and Gene Palsson. He graduated from Arborg Collegiate, Red River Community College, Business Administration and Manitoba Municipal Administration at the University of Manitoba. Grant was a devoted family man, he provided for his family, and was most happy when putting others before himself. Grant's values, good nature, sense of humour, and strength of character made him someone we all looked up to. Grant was proud of his home town, and not only grew up but spent the majority of his life as an active member of the community. He worked as CAO for the RM of Bifrost before taking on a new opportunity with the RM of Rockwood. Last year he returned to the CAO role at the RM of Bifrost Riverton where he was excited to take on new challenges. Special thanks to Dr. Kumar, Rose, and all the staff, and CancerCare Manitoba. A celebration of his life will be held at the Arborg Bifrost Community Hall, on Saturday, February 13, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Grant's memory to the Arborg-Bifrost Rec Centre, Arborg, MB R0C 0A0.
