PATRICIA M. CROSBIE
Born: May 01, 1934
Date of Passing: Jan 28, 2016
Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryPATRICIA (PATTI) M. CROSBIE May 1, 1934 - January 28, 2016 After a brief but courageous battle, with family by her side. Patti was predeceased by the love of her life, her husband of 57 years, Stu. Patti is survived by her sons Scott (Josie) and Grant; daughter Tammy (Richard) Engelman; grandchildren Michelina, Kyle, Taylor, Carly, Tim, Jason and Matthew; great-grandchildren Rylee, Sydney, Tessa, Lily and Liam. Mom is also survived by her twin sister Barbara (Bud) Campbell of Ottawa and many dear friends in St. Albert, Alberta and Winnipeg. Mom was born in Toronto and together with Stu and the kids, moved to Winnipeg in 1973. That's when Mom and Dad became devoted Blue Bomber and Blue Jay fans. Winnipeg was also where they fell in love with golf. The house on Assiniboine was a gathering place for us kids and our friends, where Mom and Dad welcomed all, which provided many cherished memories. In 1985, Dad was promoted again and he and Mom moved to St. Albert, where Mom lived until September of last year, before moving back to Winnipeg to be with her family. Mom and Dad loved their home in St. Albert and their favourite golf course, Stony Plain, where they were members for 29 years. Mom was also an accomplished bowler, winning many trophies. Mom was a devoted and loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother for whom family was everything. Mom loved to laugh and Christmas was very special to her. Mom and Dad's Christmas tree and Christmas village were sources of great enjoyment. Mom was also a proficient knitter of sweaters for her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. We all have treasured keepsakes of cartoon characters beautifully knitted with loving hands. Daily Tim Horton's visits with their dear St. Albert friends, where they would solve the problems of the world, was the highlight of their day. One of their favourite places was their screened deck and beautifully landscaped backyard, where they relaxed in each other's company with a glass of homemade wine. Mom will be sorely missed, but she is in a better place now and with Dad. They truly had what few people ever find, the true love of their life. Our family would like to thank, with heartfelt sincerity, the staff of 3rd North, at Grace Hospital, for their compassion and kindness, which greatly enhanced Mom's last days and helped our family cope during this trying time. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Canadian Cancer Society would be greatly appreciated. As per Mom's wishes, a private family service will take place.
