Condolences & Memories (5 entries)

  • Vernon was older than me by about 20 years. While we didn't "hang out", I remember him being around. He always gave the appearance of living life to the fullest, always happy and smiling. He had a big infectious smile that will be missed. Allan - Posted by: Allan and Shelly Carton (COUSIN) on: Feb 18, 2016

  • Dear Shirley & family; I know how little words can mean at a time like this but I just wanted you to know how much I sympathize with you in the great loss you have suffered. He will be missed. Carol Baird - Posted by: Carol Baird () on: Feb 15, 2016

  • Vern lived about in the same village as we have a seasonal cottage. He was always quick with a smile and a wave to say hello. While our paths crossed very infrequently, he was always happy to say hello and talk to even those who he did not know well other than from simple infrequent passings. He was a true gentleman and left a positive impression even on those whose path he rarely crossed. - Posted by: Bill & Diana Oakley (Badger Manitoba) () on: Feb 15, 2016

  • I could always hold a conversation with Vern. He knew so much about so many things...such an intelligent man! When I think of him, I'll always picture him in Badger, making the most of his retirement years, always on the go. His love of any snowmobiles especially! Rest in peace Vern. We'll chat again one day. - Posted by: Kim Cayer (Sister to his daughter-in-law, and friend) on: Feb 14, 2016

  • It was with great sadness that I heard of the passing my dear Uncle Vernon. Our families spent many many holidays together in Thompson, Winnepeg, Bird Lake and Badger. I can still see a young black bear at Bird Lake literally run out of his skin as Uncle Vernon fired a shot into the air from a shotgun as he got too close to the cabin. He was the type of man that could fix anything and I always enjoyed tinkering away on something with him out in the shop. He will be sadly missed by all that knew him. - Posted by: Wes Pearson (Nefew ) on: Feb 13, 2016
