TONI L. BRUYERE Peacefully, at Selkirk General Hospital, with family by his side, Toni passed away on February 11, 2016, at the age of 71. Toni was born in Fort Alexander, Manitoba on May 18, 1944. Toni leaves behind his sons: Curtis, James, Ryan, Brian, Carter, Lincoln, Jon Pall and daughter Sandy. As well as grandchildren: Sciera, Ryan, Dawson, Kylia, Asiniwiche, Takio, Washteno, Zayden, Marquis, Wawatay, Seth, Rhyson, Kashtin and numerous nieces and nephews. Toni is survived by siblings: Lorraine, Terry (Bert), Bert, Sylvia, Vi, Bruce (Darlene), Chris (Delores), Chick and Kim (Paul); in-laws: Calvin, Annette, Elaine. Toni was predeceased by his parents, William and Angele Bruyere, son Leander, twin brother Louison, siblings: Wilfred (Sophie), Ron, Joe (Cecile), Rose (Dave), and Alma. He was also predeceased by his brother-in-law Russell and nephew Trevor. Toni enjoyed spending time with family, playing horseshoes and visiting the boys at the Garrick Hotel. He loved doing the daily crossword and collecting various antiques. Toni was known for his wide collection of sports memorabilia. Toni attended the Fort Alexander and Assiniboia Indian Residential Schools. He possessed a strong work ethic and was employed as a medical transportation driver, taxi driver, bricklayer, carpenter, stucco plasterer and iron worker. Toni was known for his humour, quick wit, and charm. The family would like to extend warm-felt gratitude and appreciation to the staff at the Selkirk General Hospital, George M. Guimond Care Centre, Pine Falls Health Complex and Health Sciences Centre for their care and compassion during his time of need. A Celebration of Life Ceremony will be held at the Victoria Beach Recreation Centre on Saturday, February 13, 2016 from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. Cremation to follow.
