WENDY MAUREEN MCLEOD (CLAYTON) September 28, 1947 - February 2, 2016 Peacefully, on February 2, 2016, Wendy passed away at Boundary Trails Hospital at the age of 68. She was predeceased by father Reg Clayton; mother Doreen Clayton, and son Kenneth McLeod. She is survived by husband Jim McLeod; son and daughter-in-law Brian and Jennie McLeod; daughter-in-law Holly DeGraeve; brothers, Warren (Lana), Doug (Jean), Gordie (Dawn), Glen (Jackie) Clayton; sister Shelly (Vince) Hink; grandchildren, Brendan, Kennedy, Peyton, Merek, Kalli; and many nieces and nephews. She is also survived by sister-in-law Joyce (George) Hartwig and all members of the McLeod family. Wendy was born September 28, 1947 in Morden, MB. She lived on a farm north of the Pembina Colony before moving to Darlingford, MB in 1957. After attending schools in Calf Mountain, Darlingford, and Manitou, she worked in Winnipeg as a secretary for the Labour Division of Manitoba Government. Wendy married Jim McLeod in 1970 and lived on their farm south of Kaleida, MB in the bottom of the Pembina Valley. They raised two boys on their farm before tragically losing their oldest son Kenneth in 1994. In 2011, they sold their farmland and moved to Morden, MB. Wendy was a loving, genuine, kind, loyal, generous, and hard working person. Nothing was more important than family, was always willing to volunteer when needed, and was a dedicated parent and grandparent. She enjoyed adventures with friends and passions included gardening, quilting, sewing, baking, and canning. She loved to watch baseball in the summer and curling in the winter. A kind woman remembered by many. All your hard work is finally done, may you rest peacefully and be reunited with your mom, dad, and son. Special thanks to the staff at Boundary Trails Hospital, CancerCare Manitoba, Wiebe's Funeral Home, Rev. Cathie Waldie, the UCW for the service lunch, and to all involved for the love and support.
