Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryJOHN CHARLES MACHOWSKI John Machowski passed away on Monday, February 8, 2016 at the Selkirk and District General Hospital after a sudden battle with Pancreatic Cancer at the age of 62. Born August 3, 1953, he obtained a brown belt with Manitoba Judo Club and served several years as Chief Petty Officer with Sea Cadets. He obtained a Bachelor of Arts in Economics at the University of Winnipeg and moved to Dryden to work for the TD Bank. During his several years of study, he was also employed at "The Mill" (Gerdau - as it is now) and in 1982 he returned to the Mill to work various positions on "The Furnace" until his injury in 2003. He enjoyed his remaining years appreciating various forms of art. He was predeceased by his grandparents and sister Beryl Marion (1990) and will be sadly missed by his parents John and Mildred Machowski, wife Brenda, daughter Crystal, son John E, sisters Lorraine (Edward) Plouffe, Diane (Mike) Craine, Mildred (Moe) Oye and Carol Kupchik along with many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, February 17, 2016 at The Christ Church, Selkirk, MB at 2:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, PLEASE donate to cancer research.
