STELLA KOSHOWSKI (nee PRETULA) January 8, 1923 - February 15, 2016 It is with sad hearts that we announce the passing of our mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Stella came to Canada from the Ukraine at the age of six and resided in Winnipeg until the time of her passing, at the age of 93 years. She was predeceased by her parents, sister Mary, brother Russell and her loving husband, Martin. Left to cherish her memory is her daughter, Jeannette Huhtala, son Martin Koshowski (Darlene); grandchildren: Gerald Huhtala, Michael Huhtala (Michelle), Rina Delaquis (Jeremy), Tara Koshowski, Jenna Gebhardt (Derek) and great-grandchildren: Justin, Connor and Max Huhtala and Reagan Gebhardt. We wish to thank all the wonderful people at the Maples Personal Care Home for their care and kindness to our mother during her residence with them. In accordance with Mom's wishes, cremation has taken place with private interment at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity of your choice.

  • We are saddened to hear of Stella's passing. She is remembered as a kind and giving person. Growing up it was always a treat to visit Stella and Martin. I (Grant) remember Stella's flair for cooking. To this day I wish I had some of here recipes. As she did a lot of catering in her life, Stella was the go to person for proper procedure and etiquette.
