LOREEN ANNA GOODHAND
Born: Mar 07, 1929
Date of Passing: Feb 19, 2016
Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryLOREEN ANNA GOODHAND March 7, 1929 - February 19, 2016 From her memoirs: I have explored the great cities of the world, from London to Cairo to Bogota and Beijing. I've panned for gold in the Klondike, walked the Via Dolorosa in Jerusalem and slept in a yurt in Inner Mongolia... For a little girl from Saskatchewan, it's been a great ride! From her will: Loreen leaves her husband Tom, of 64 years; daughters Joyce, Lois (Fred), Margo (Glenn) and Linnea (Dale); 12 perfect in every way grandchildren; eight really great-grandchildren; brothers Dennis (Mary), Doug (Val), sister Olive Jean Sinclair, and many very classy nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents, John and Emma Ringstrom, her brother Morley, son Bruce, and baby granddaughters Katie and Rachel Burch. Loreen was born in Weyburn, SK, spent most of her childhood in Punnichy and her adolescence in Dauphin, MB. She trained as a legal secretary, working with firms in Vancouver and Dauphin before joining the Bank of Montreal in 1950. She was transferred to Winnipeg in 1951 and married Tom the same year. A long-time member of the United Church Women, volunteer at CNIB, Agape Table, Meals on Wheels and many local charities, her main focus was always her kids and grandkids. Following her wishes, cremation has taken place. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Dauphin and District Foundation, 118 Main St., Dauphin, MB R7N 2T9, or a charity of your choice. From our hearts: She gave unreservedly, loved unconditionally, and was the fierce and beloved fulcrum of the family. We will celebrate her life this summer in Winnipeg.

Dear Goodhands, I'm so sorry for your loss. Auntie Loreen was a huge influence in our lives. From the time we landed on your doorstep in Matlock via Montreal, we seemed to have a place in her heart. She celebrated our special moments - adventures, careers, weddings, new babies - with genuine happiness and caring. Her kindness to my family and I was endless. My daughters loved listening to her Ringstrom wit and humour, and I will always be grateful for that. With a smile on my face, I think of the formidable force that was Auntie Loreen. I will miss her. Rest in peace. - Posted by: Nancy Jones (niece) on: Feb 23, 2016

Auntie Loreen set a high standard for what it meant to be an aunt and she filled this role with great enthusiasm and intentionality; she made me feel special and unconditionally loved every time our paths crossed. She will be sorely missed but never forgotten. My heartfelt condolences to the entire Goodhand family. - Posted by: Anna Ringstrom (niece) on: Feb 23, 2016
