Arthur leaves to cherish his memory his loving wife Patricia; children, Maureen (Rodney), Donald (Pauline), Barbara (Hubert), Marilyn (James); grandchildren, Ryan, Eric, Patrick, Zachary, Bradley (Jody), Karly (Jaysin), Nikkol (Michal), Monique (Paul), Miranda (Kevin), Sean; great-grandchildren, Landen, Lucas and Nathanael. He is also survived by his brother- in-law Archie and sister-in-law Joan; and nieces and nephews. Arthur was predeceased by his father William and mother Jennie; brother Bill; sisters, Ethel, Dorothy, Mary, and Jen. Arthur was born in Fort William Ontario. He served in The Royal Canadian Navy in the Second World War. He married his wife Patricia on May 11, 1949 in Thunder Bay and moved to Winnipeg in 1957. Dad retired from CN Rail as a trainman/conductor after 35 years of service. Arthur loved his family and especially enjoyed being involved in his grandchildren's lives. Dad loved to sing and even during his difficult last days could be heard singing the odd tune. If you wanted to know anything about baseball or hockey, dad was a wealth of knowledge. The family would like to extend heartfelt appreciation to the nurses, doctors and Staff at St. Boniface Hospital. Cremation has taken place and Mass will be held at Blessed Sacrament Parish, 710 Roanoke at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, February 26. Interment will be at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to L'Arche Winnipeg, 118 Regent Avenue East, Winnipeg, MB R2C 0C1 or a charity of your choice. A loving father figure... Who drove his children and their friends to school on those bitter Manitoba winter mornings. He is singing with the angels and watching over his beloved family. - Posted by: Evelyn (Friend of his children) on: Feb 25, 2016

I was so sorry to hear of Art's passing. He was a true gentleman. I know that you are going to miss him terribly Pat and will be praying for strength for you and your family. I know too that his knowledge and guidance and never ending love has made each of your children stronger so they will remain a tribute to their father. - Posted by: Leslie Young (nee Farnworth) (Family friend/neighbour) on: Feb 25, 2016
